Day 1: Arival
Arrive in Baku and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Baku
After breakfast, we will walk to the historical centre of old Baku, where the important sights of the city are gathered: The Maidan Tower, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Shemakha Gate, the Caravanserai.
The oldest part of Baku, which includes the Shirvanshah Palace and the Tower of the Virgin, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
After the tour we can spend a pleasant evening on the boulevard of Baku or take a walk on the busiest Nizami Street in the city, which is full of souvenir shops and cafes.
Day 3: Baku - Gobustan - Baku
After an hour-long drive from modern Baku, we will find ourselves in an ancient rock-carved city. Gobustan State Historical-Ethnographic Reserve is one of the sights of the country today.
Gobustan rock painting is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
After returning to the capital we visit the Azerbaijani Carpet Museum. The museum building has the shape of a rolled carpet and attracts the visitor with originality even from the outside.
Due to the great history of this art, UNESCO has granted the Azerbaijan carpet the status of a World Heritage Site.
Then we stop at the three flame-shaped tower that has become a symbol of modern Baku.
The last free evening spent in the capital of Azerbaijan can be dedicated to a short cruise on the Caspian Sea.
Day 4: Baku - Shemakha - Sheki
After breakfast, we visit the Temple of the Fire-worshipers near Baku. A unique building, Ateshgah is a Zoroastrian temple and its name translates as “House of Fire”. The unquenchable flame of the temple attracts pilgrims from all over the world.
Then we will move through Shemakha to the historical Sheki. Shemakha is one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan.
Here we will visit the famous Juma Mosque, which makes a special impression on the visitor with its size.
We drive to Sheki and overnight.
Day 5: Sheki
The fifth day of the trip is fully dedicated to one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan – Sheki. The main attraction of the city is the Khan Palace, which was built in the 18th century. This palace is the former residence of the Shek Khans.
The historic center of Sheki and Khan Palace has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
After visiting the palace we can walk to the historic part where we will meet souvenir shops.
In the afternoon we will visit the local market of Sheki. Visiting the market is an interesting experience to get to know people better or to discover the culinary peculiarities of different countries.
Day 6: Sheki - Lagodekhi (Border) - Kvareli - Tbilisi
The Azerbaijani part of the tour draws to an end this morning. After a two-hour trip, we will already find ourselves in Georgia.
After crossing the border we arrive in Kakheti. When we mention Kakheti, we are reminded of wine for the first time.
This side of Georgia is considered the homeland of wine. Apart from winemaking, Kakheti is distinguished by monuments of different periods and it’s diverse nature.
A visit to Kakheti is unimaginable without a local family dinner. The kindness of the hosts, the immediacy, the taste of homemade dishes and wine create special emotions around the table.
On the way to Tbilisi, we will visit a local family winery and learn much more about the famous Georgian wine. The Georgian traditional method of making wine has the status of a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site. We will taste natural wines in the family cellar.
Pleasantly drenched with wine, we will drive to Tbilisi.
Day 7: Tbilisi
After a late breakfast, we start our Tbilisi sightseeing tour to get acquainted with the city. Walking through the historical part of the city and enjoying the unique combination of cultures. Meandering through the narrow streets of the city we will come-across various religious buildings: Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Wooden houses built in the 19th century with colourful balconies, sulphur baths, the Narikala fortress.
Next, we take in the Georgian National Museum, where a great many intricate Georgian treasures are preserved. To finish up this introduction to the city we peruse Rustaveli Avenue which is the main central boulevard.
The rest of the day is left for exploring Tbilisi further, tasting wine in one of the many wine-bars, and getting acquainted with Georgian cuisine in one of the many great restaurants in the city centre.
Day 8: Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Stepantsminda - Gudauri
After breakfast, we will take the road to Mtskheta. Mtskheta is the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia.
In Mtskheta, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Jvari Monastery built in the 6th century and the beautiful Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
The Jvari Monastery offers an amazing panoramic view of the city at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers.
Later we visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which is the largest historical building in Georgia among the survivors and leaves a great impression on the visitor.
In the afternoon we will follow the Georgian Military Road to Stepantsminda, which is one of the most spectacular routes in Georgia.
On the way, we will stop at the colourful Zhinvali Reservoir and visit the beautiful Ananuri complex.
After arriving in Stepantsminda we visit Gergeti Trinity Church. Today, Gergeti Trinity is the most popular tourist destination in Georgia. With its special location and centuries-old history, it really represents the face of Georgia.
The green slopes decorated with mountain flowers and the great Caucasus leave an unforgettable impression on the visitor.
Day 9: Gudauri - Gori - Uplistsikhe - Kutaisi
In the morning on the way to Kutaisi we visit Stalin museum in Gori.
The museum complex includes the memorial house where Stalin was born and spent his childhood, the exhibition building, and Stalin’s personal carriage.
In the afternoon we will visit the cave town city, Uplistsikhe. Uplistsikhe was a waypoint on the Silk Road, which passed here.
We continue the road to Kutaisi, which is one of the oldest cities in the world. Its centuries-old past attracts visitors to discover famous or unknown places.
Today Kutaisi is the third-largest city in Georgia and one of the most popular tourist destinations.
Day 10: Kutaisi - Tskaltubo - Prometheus Cave - Batumi
In the morning we visit Kutaisi agricultural market. Products brought from different regions are carefully displayed on open shelves: seasonal ripe fruits, healthy vegetables, colourful spices, a variety of cheeses, fresh meats, beaded nuts, or walnuts.
Then we will visit Gelati Monastery. The centuries-old monastery with its beautiful paintings is deservedly included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
We also visit the Bagrati cathedral, which is a symbol of Georgia’s strength in terms of cultural development and architectural prowess.
In the afternoon we will visit the Prometheus Cave, which is a natural beauty monument. We will see six halls in the karst cave decorated with gnarled shapes.
After a spectacularly day, it is time to move to sunny Adjara – one of the most beautiful regions of Georgia, Adjara is distinguished by unusual nature, the charm of the Black Sea, beautiful mountain and sea landscapes, natural reserves, and the famous botanical garden.
Overnight in Batumi.
Day 11: Batumi
We will spend this day on the seaside in Batumi. Batumi is the administrative centre of Adjara and the second-largest city in Georgia.
With its ancient port, beautiful seaside boulevard, old or new architectural buildings, European squares, and streets, Batumi is the best example of modern Georgia.
We will visit the main tourist sights of Batumi: the piazza, the statue of Medea, the alphabet tower, the moving statue of Ali and Nino.
You can even spend free evening hours on the beautiful seaside boulevard or in old port.
Day 12: Departure
Transfer to the airport and departure for home.
